The AI Image Upscaler enlarges small pictures and makes them sharper using Swin2SR, an open super-resolution model. Choose 2× fast for most images, 2× more detail for clean pictures, or 4× for real-world photos such as old phone or WhatsApp pictures.
The model downloads once and then runs entirely in your browser, tile by tile, with a progress bar and an estimate of the time left. Compare before and after with the slider and download a PNG or JPG. Your photo is never uploaded to a server. How is this different from resizing?

How long does it take?
The model runs on your device’s processor, tile by tile. With 2× fast a 500 × 500 photo takes roughly 20–40 seconds on a typical laptop; the larger 2× and 4× models are about ten times slower. A progress bar shows the time left, and you can cancel at any time.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Only the model file is downloaded (from Hugging Face, once, then cached by your browser). Your photo is processed locally.
How do I increase the resolution of an image?
Drop the image, choose 2× or 4× and click Upscale. The output has two or four times the width and height.
Is there a size limit?
Yes, to keep processing time reasonable: about 1500 px for 2× fast, 800 px for 2× more detail and 640 px for 4×. Larger images are reduced first.
