Frequently asked questions
Can this tool find or crack a forgotten password?
No. It only removes a password you already know, or restrictions on a file you can already open. Use it only on documents you own or are allowed to access.
What password do bank statements and e-Aadhaar use?
Each issuer sets its own format and prints it in the email or on its website — commonly parts of your name, date of birth, PAN or customer ID. Check the instructions from the sender.
Will the text stay selectable?
Yes, in almost all cases the unlocked file is identical to the original apart from the protection. If a file uses an unusual encryption method, the tool offers a fallback that rebuilds the pages as images; the tool tells you when this happens.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is opened and processed entirely inside your browser using JavaScript libraries. Nothing is sent to a server, so it is safe for confidential documents.
