PDF Reader
Read PDFs in your browser with page thumbnails, zoom, fit to width, text search and a dark reading mode.
About PDF Reader
This PDF reader lets you open a PDF online and read it comfortably without installing an app. Page thumbnails help you jump around, and you can zoom in or out, fit the page to the window width or type a page number to go straight there.
Search for any word and matches are highlighted across the document. A dark reading mode makes long e-books and notes easier on the eyes at night. It is a quick PDF viewer for any device, including computers where no reader is installed. Your file is opened in your browser and never uploaded, and it is free with no sign-up.
How to use PDF Reader
- Drop a PDF or try the sample.
- Scroll, use the arrows or type a page number to move around.
- Zoom in or out, or fit the page to the window width.
- Search for words — matches are highlighted — and switch on dark mode for night reading.
Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is opened and processed entirely inside your browser using JavaScript libraries. Nothing is sent to a server, so it is safe for confidential documents.
Why does search find nothing?
Scanned PDFs are images of pages and contain no searchable text. Search works on PDFs with real, selectable text.
How does dark mode work?
Pages are colour-inverted for reading, so white paper becomes dark and black text becomes light. Photos also look inverted while it is on.
How do I open a PDF file online?
Drop the PDF on this page or tap to choose it. It opens instantly in the viewer, ready to scroll, zoom and search.
Can I read PDFs in dark mode?
Yes. Turn on dark mode in the reader to show pages with a dark background and light text, which is easier to read at night.
