PDF Metadata Editor

View and edit a PDF’s title, author, subject, keywords and dates, and see page count and page sizes.

About PDF Metadata Editor

This PDF metadata editor shows the hidden properties inside a PDF and lets you change them. You can edit the PDF title that appears in browser tabs and search results, change the author name, and update the subject, keywords and dates. You also see the page count and a table of page sizes.

It is useful before sending a resume, a client report or a government submission, when the file still carries an old title or someone else's name as author. Clear all fields in one click to remove personal details. Editing happens in your browser and nothing is uploaded, and it is free with no sign-up.

How to use PDF Metadata Editor

  1. Drop a PDF or try the sample.
  2. Review the current properties and the page size table.
  3. Edit any field, or clear all to remove personal details.
  4. Click Save PDF to download the updated file.

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is opened and processed entirely inside your browser using JavaScript libraries. Nothing is sent to a server, so it is safe for confidential documents.

Why change PDF metadata?

The title shows in browser tabs and search results, and the author field may reveal a name or company you would rather not share. Cleaning metadata before sending files is good practice.

Does this remove all hidden data?

It edits the standard document information fields. Some PDFs also carry XMP metadata or embedded files, which are not changed here.

What about password-protected PDFs?

Encrypted PDFs cannot be edited directly. Remove the password first with the Unlock PDF tool (you need the password), then use the unlocked copy.

How do I change the author name of a PDF?

Load the PDF, type the new name in the Author field (or leave it empty), and click Save PDF to download the updated file.

How do I edit the title of a PDF?

Enter the new text in the Title field and save. PDF readers and browsers show this title instead of the file name when the document is opened.
