About Crop PDF
This free tool lets you crop PDF pages online by dragging a box on the page or typing margins in millimetres. Auto-trim finds the content and removes white margins for you, either with one box for all pages or detected separately on each page. Apply the crop to a single page, every page or a range you choose.
It is handy for trimming wide margins so a document reads better on a phone, cutting a scanned form down to the useful area, or tidying slides exported with borders. Cropping hides content outside the box rather than erasing it, so use redaction for anything confidential. It is free, with no sign-up, and your PDF never leaves your browser.
How to use Crop PDF
- Drop a PDF or try the sample.
- Drag on the page to draw the crop box, move it, or pull its handles. You can also type margins in mm.
- Click Auto-trim margins to fit the box to the content, or tick “Detect separately on each page”.
- Choose which pages to crop and click Crop PDF.
Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is opened and processed entirely inside your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, so it is safe for confidential documents.
Is the cropped content deleted?
No. Like Adobe Acrobat and iLovePDF, cropping sets the visible page area (CropBox and MediaBox). Content outside the box is hidden, not erased, so do not use cropping to hide confidential text — use Redact PDF instead.
How does auto-trim work?
The page is rendered and scanned for the first and last non-white pixels on each side; the box is set around them plus the padding you choose. Light background colours count as content.
Can pages of different sizes be cropped together?
Yes. The same margins (distance from each edge) are applied to every chosen page, or each page is trimmed separately when “Detect separately on each page” is on.
How do I crop a PDF page?
Drop the PDF, drag a box around the area you want to keep (or type margins in mm), choose which pages to crop and click Crop PDF.
How can I remove white margins from a PDF?
Click Auto-trim margins. The tool finds the edges of the content and sets the crop box around it, plus the padding you choose.
