Periodic Table
Interactive periodic table of all 118 elements with atomic number, mass, category, group, period, electron configuration and state — searchable and colour-coded.
About Periodic Table
This interactive periodic table shows all 118 elements with their names, symbols and atomic numbers, colour-coded by category such as alkali metals, noble gases and transition metals. Click any element to see its atomic mass, group, period, electron configuration and state at room temperature.
Search by name, symbol or atomic number, or click a category in the legend to highlight only those elements. It is useful for chemistry students in class 9 to 12, for learning the first 20 elements and for quick lookups while solving problems. On a phone, the table scrolls sideways inside its box. It is free and needs no sign-up.
How to use Periodic Table
- Click any element to see its details below the table.
- Search by name, symbol or atomic number.

Frequently asked questions
Why are some atomic masses shown in brackets?
Elements with no stable isotopes have no standard atomic weight. The number in brackets is the mass number of their most stable (longest-lived) known isotope.
Why do chromium and copper have unusual configurations?
Half-filled (d5) and completely filled (d10) d-subshells are extra stable, so Cr is [Ar] 3d5 4s1 and Cu is [Ar] 3d10 4s1. The table includes all standard exceptions of this kind.
Where are lanthanum and actinium placed?
Following the NCERT layout, La and Ac sit in group 3, and the 14 elements after each (Ce-Lu and Th-Lr) form the f-block rows below the main table.
What about elements 104-118?
They are synthetic and only a few atoms have ever been made, so their states are unknown and their configurations are theoretical predictions.
How many elements are in the periodic table?
There are 118 confirmed elements, from hydrogen (1) to oganesson (118).
What are the first 20 elements?
Hydrogen, helium, lithium, beryllium, boron, carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, fluorine, neon, sodium, magnesium, aluminium, silicon, phosphorus, sulfur, chlorine, argon, potassium and calcium.
How is the periodic table arranged?
Elements are arranged by increasing atomic number in rows called periods and columns called groups, with similar properties in each group.
