How many bricks are in 1 m³ of brickwork?
With modular bricks (190×90×90 mm) and 10 mm joints, each brick occupies 200×100×100 mm, so about 500 bricks per m³ before wastage.
Which mortar ratio should I use?
1:6 is common for 9" load-bearing and external walls, 1:4 for 4.5" partition walls that need more strength. Follow your engineer’s specification.
Why is the dry mortar factor 1.33?
Mortar shrinks when water is added and voids are filled. Wet mortar volume is multiplied by about 1.33 to get the dry volume of cement and sand to buy.
How do I calculate how many bricks I need?
Find the wall volume (length × height × thickness), then divide by the volume of one brick with mortar. The calculator does this and adds wastage.
How many bricks are needed for 100 sq ft of 9 inch wall?
With standard Indian bricks, roughly 1,000–1,100 bricks, depending on brick size and joint thickness.
