How does the comparison work?
It uses the longest common subsequence (LCS) algorithm — the same idea behind tools like git diff — to find the smallest set of additions and removals that turns the first text into the second.
What is the difference between line and word mode?
Line mode compares whole lines and also highlights the changed words inside modified lines. Word mode compares the texts word by word as one flowing passage, which suits paragraphs better.
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. The comparison runs entirely in your browser, so it is safe for contracts, code and other private documents.
How do I compare two texts for differences?
